Houses in downtown Bangkok are available but they are more difficult to obtain and tend to be older, stand alone properties. A larger selection
of more modern housing is available in planned communities on the outskirts of the city near the various international schools and in secured
housing estates in the suburbs called "moobaans". Most houses are fenced or walled which offers both security and privacy.
All houses usually include a refrigerator, stove, telephones, and air conditioners, but whether washers, dryers and curtains are supplied varies
with each landlord.
For all houses, it is usually the renter's responsibility to pay for pool and garden maintenance. It is often the renter's responsibility to also pay
for routine air conditioner maintenance.
Utilities are usually paid by the individual renter unless one landlord owns all the houses in a development, in which case the utility charges m
ight be included on the monthly rental invoice.
Cable television and internet connections are sometimes provided by the landlord, sometimes left to the renter to arrange. Monthly charges
are paid by the renter.
