Documents Required for Thailand

The Thai Embassy or Consular Office in your home country can help you determine what documents are required for your relocation and can issue
the proper visas. In addition, they can often provide advice and information on many other aspects of your move.

Passports

A valid passport with a least 6 months remaining and an appropriate visa are required for all persons entering Thailand. If one enters the country
without a visa, extensions of stay cannot be granted. Each member of a family should have his/her own passport; if a child is included on a parent's
passport, the parent cannot leave Thailand without the child. If only one parent leaves with a child(ren), written permission form the other parent
is required.

Visas

Visas are issued according to the stated purpose of the visit. It is extremely important that you enter Thailand with the proper visa when you relocate.
A Work Visa is necessary in order to apply for a Work Permit after your arrival. A Non-Immigrant Visa is necessary for accompanying family members
and approval must be obtained in advance from the Thai Immigration Services for stays longer than 90 days. Visas are issued by the nearest
consulate, and only cash or money order is accepted as payment for the fee. Application may be made by mail or in person.

Work Permits

Work Permits are issued by the Labor Department in Bangkok, normally for the duration of the visa. Work permits are usually obtained by
the individual's company. One cannot own or register a vehicle, receive a salary, or begin employment until the Work Permit is obtained.
